About the DakRats. The name DakRats was originally chosen by Doctor_WHO for a Counter-Strike clan in Minot ND around August of 2000 In October later that year Doctor_WHO began hosting FREE LAN parties on Minot Air Force base. The name was also used for these events. Anyone that attends a DakRats LAN Party earns the right to bear the {DR} tag and represent DakRats. We also use the {DR} tag when we travel to other LAN's. Over the years the LAN's have enjoyed serving many gamers from across North America. We have seen numbers in the 50's! Not bad for a town of 35k. Without the tireless efforts of people like Marcus Cornell, Marc Perea, Marcus Rayford, their respective significant others, and the many others over the years, the FREE LAN's would not have been near as enjoyable as they have been! Or FREE. Most importantly, the people that tear down their computers and bring them out to the FREE LAN each month - Without you, there would be no LAN Party!
